In the opening pages of Robert Ruark's "The Old Man and the Boy", there's a line that reads:
"The thing I like best about the Old Man is that he's willing to talk about what he knows, and he never talks down to a kid, which is me, who wants to know things." Now I certainly wouldn't suggest that ML is an old man and I guess I'm not a kid either. But like the Old Man, ML has most definitely "been there and done that" with a great many things over the years and for that reason, when ML speaks (or writes), I listen...(or read). And again, like the Old Man, ML is willing to share his vast knowledge and wisdom with anyone who shows a sincere desire in wanting to learn something new. So I guess this creation of ML's Corner is my small way of saying "thanks" and paying tribute to a person that has showed a sincere interest in my wanting to learn more. ML has guided me through a mountain of many questions and ideas, and quite simply has been a mentor that I continue to look up to. Thanks ML. I hope others will enjoy reading ML's "lectures" as much as I have. Eric |
