Very much enjoyed the stories and adventures. Where are you going for your next trip? I also like the coffee can stove you came up with. I love passing along these tidbits to the boy scouts I help with. We try and teach them survival skills for their badges. How long does your average coffee can stove last? Can't wait to read about some more adventures and the equipment you test out. I'm always looking for good stuff. Thanks.

Hi Craig...

First, I'd like to thank you for the kind words. It's always nice to hear that other people are enjoying some of the things I write about.

I'm starting to think about this summer and where I'll be going. Most likely it will be back to my home in the Sierra. Now that I'm living in Texas it takes a little more planning but that's part of the fun.

That's nice that you're passing along some of the information to the scouts. Please be sure to tell them "hi" for me!

The coffee can stoves usually get left behind once I'm through using them. Sometimes I stash them behind some rocks or in one of my old camps to use on another trip.

The stove featured in "The Cabin" did actually get packed out mainly for sentimental reasons. I ended up filming the stove's construction so I feel there's a little story behind it now. I have an entire wall full of that kind of stuff and to most people it would look like a bunch of junk. To me it's full of memories.

Thanks again for writing and best wishes for 2005!

Eric
